There’s a rule of thumb when it comes to advertising, the more creative it is, the more it will grab attention. Companies around the world spend millions on creating adverts that catch the attention of people. And the ones who are able to pull it off, not only their efforts go viral these days on social media, but they also get a lot of attention from the public.
The Earning Academy, a company in Karachi that teaches people how to earn money through various means have just created a campaign that might make you laugh a bit and at the same time may disappoint you.
The company is using a fake Rs. 5,000 notes to advertise itself. If you go to Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi, you may come across a folded Rs. 5,000 note lying innocently on the road.
Who doesn’t like picking up a free 5k note? But once you pick up the note, and unfold it, one side of it has the advertisement material with a message saying ‘want to earn money?’, while the other perfectly mimics a real 5K note. Have a look at yourself.
Do you think this is clever marketing or taking things too far? What would be your reaction if this had happened to you?
