The new Pakistani Suzuki Alto 660c will likely be shown next week at the Pakistan Auto Parts Show in Karachi

According to sources close to the company, Suzuki will begin commercial production of the Alto 660cc from next week too

PAK Suzuki Motor Company Ltd announced this week that they have stopped taking orders for the Mehran 800cc VX and VXR models, confirming that the car has been discontinued for good.

Since then there have been rumors going around that Suzuki has already prepared a couple of test models of the car that will be replacing the Mehran, i.e Alto 660cc.

Today, sources close to the company revealed to Dawn that the company has prepared a couple of test models which it plans to reveal at the Pakistan Auto Parts Show which will be held next week in Karachi from 12 April to 14 April.

So far it isn’t clear how the local Alto 660c will differ from its international variant that is commonly seen on the roads of Pakistan. But as history serves, the cars assembled in Pakistan are usually lacking the features offered in their international versions.

The price of the car will be another factor that will likely catch the interest of car buyers and investors. Will Suzuki be able to keep the Alto 660cc under the same price category of Mehran? Or will it have to take it above that category? It will all be revealed soon.
