The first ever INGAME Esports Sout Asia Cup, one of the biggest esports events of South Asia took place on the 7th, 8th, and 9th of December. The tournament was hosted by Sri Lanka with 5 teams taking part including Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Maldives.
The team showcased their skills in League of Legends in a round-robin format which each team playing every other team. The top 2 from the group played grand-finals for a prize of USD 5,000.
Pakistan was being presented by Portal Esports, one of the best teams of the country who recently also won Dew Gamers Arena in Pakistan. At least four matches were played by each team with Pakistan emerging victorious in each and every match played, securing the first position and becoming the first ever champions of this prestigious South Asian competition.
The final match was held between Pakistan and India, which was represented by Entity gaming. India secured the 2nd position while Bangladesh secured the third place with 2 victories in total. Sri Lanka took the fourth place and the Maldives remained at the last spot with zero victories.
Pakistan winning a competition in the international ground has proved that Esports is growing in the country and more and more talented people are emerging to make Pakistan proud in this sport.
