According to public sources, Murree and parts of upper Kashmir are observing intermittent snowfall since last night, turning the weather cold around surrounding areas. Tourists are already heading to the hill station in large numbers to enjoy this winter season’s first snowfall.
Murree isn’t the only place where rain and snowfall are currently happening. The rest of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and even Karachi is experiencing intermittent rainfall, turning the weather colder.
Rainfall started late Sunday night in most parts of Northern Pakistan and continued till Monday morning in several parts of the country. Right now, several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, namely Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, FATA, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir are all experiencing rainfall.
The rain has turned the weather really cold in surrounding parts of these areas. Apart from that, the police and rescue agencies have advised people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travel due to slippery roads.
In Punjab, foggy conditions are going to stay strong during the late night and early morning. According to the Met Office of Pakistan, this is due to the westerly wave which has arrived in Pakistan since last night. It will continue to shadow the upper and central parts of the country for the coming days, which means more snowfall is expected in Murree.
