Every year, Lahore and its surrounding cities that make up the whole of Punjab get engulfed in dense fog. The fog season usually starts from the mid of December or at the beginning of January.
This time around the fog season has returned a little early and has already made day to day life hard for Lahore and other cities in Punjab. The motorway has particularly been affected by the fog.
According to several publications, reports of several cars crashing into each other at the Kala Shah Kaku Interchange has instilled fear in people who wanted to travel between Lahore and Islamabad during the weekend. No loss of life was reported but the Motorway police are taking cautionary measures.
Visibility in areas engulfed in the fog has dropped significantly, making it really hard to commute. A spokesperson from Motorway police has urged people to avoid unnecessary travel on the highways and motorways.
If you’re traveling to Lahore or Islamabad through the Motorway, keep in mind that you can get in touch with the police immediately by dialing 130 on your phone. In case of emergency, make sure to save this number.
