Roads and major routes have been completely blocked in major cities of Pakistan as several protests continue throughout the country. Although most of the routes in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Peshawar have been opened, there are still some major blockades you should be aware of.
Karachi traffic situation
In Karachi, at least 15 roads and areas have been completely blocked. These include:
Teen Talwar, Star Gate at Shahrah-e-Faisal, Numaish, Liaquatabad No 10, Sohrab Goth, Korangi No 5, Bara Board, Baldia No 4, Ranchor Line, Shoe Market, and New Karachi have been blocked for traffic.
Furthermore, protests are taking place at Hub River Road, Baldia, Maripur Road, Orangi Town No 5, Power House Chowrangi, Nagan Chowrangi, Teen Hatti and MT Khan Road.
Lahore traffic situation
Much like Karachi, Lahore traffic has also been blocked on major routes. These include:
Charing Cross at Mall Road, Data Darbar and Shahdara Chowk, Askari X and Bhatta Chowk. Roads from Askari X and Bhatta Chowk to the Allama Iqbal International Airport have also been blocked.
Islamabad Traffic Situation
The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Faizabad Interchange
Dhoke Kala Khan, Tramri Chowk and Karal Chowk are blocked.
Pindi Bhattian-Lahore, Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad, and Faisalabad-Gojra motorway are blocked.
Ring Road and GT Road is blocked. Roads leading to the motorway have also been blocked.
These routes will remain closed for the rest of the day until announced. Plan your journey accordingly.
