Suzuki is gearing to launch ‘Mehran’ replacement ‘Alto’ in December

As we all know already, Suzuki Pakistan sent an official notification last month announcing the discontinuation of its long-running hatchback ‘Mehran’ in Pakistan.

The Suzuki Mehran will officially be discontinued in April 2019 and its place will be taken by the Alto 660cc variant in the country. Sources close to PakWheels have confirmed the automobile manufacturer is gearing to launch the vehicle in December or early January.

Suzuki will introduce the 2019 Alto 660cc variant in Pakistan. There will be three variants of the car – two manual, and one automatic. The car is expected to come pre-installed with various features including power steering, powered windows, and more.

Most of the car will be assembled in Pakistan except for the engine will be imported.

According to the same sources, the Alto 660cc is expected to retail for around 8 to 10 lakh rupees in the country. The base model will start at around 8 lakh while the rest of the two variants will go as high as 10 lakhs.

It will be interesting to see how well the Alto 660cc will fare against the newly launched United Bravo which is currently retailing for RS. 8.5 lakh in Pakistan with many modern features.

The killer feature of Suzuki Alto 660cc

The Suzuki Alto 660cc which will be launched in Pakistan is expected to be the eighth generation variant which was launched in Japan in 2014.

This new Alto’s main feature is its low fuel consumption. The Japanese automobile manufacturer specifically designed the car to consume very low fuel using the ‘Suzuki Green Technology’. The alto is claimed to provide fuel consumption of 37 Km/L through its manual configuration.
