Ali Zafar’s and Maya Ali Pakistani debut film ‘Teefa in Trouble’ had the most successful opening day and weekend in the history of Pakistani cinema.
The film released on Friday 20th July and collected over 2.3 crores on the first day in Pakistan making it the biggest opening ever for a Pakistani film.
On the second day ‘Teefa in Trouble’ collected an additional 2.5 crores in Pakistan totaling 2.8 crores. Since its release, the film has collected more than 4.8 crores making it the biggest opening weekend ever for a Pakistani film.
The records above were held by the Pakistani film ‘Jawani Phir Nai Ani’. One thing to note here is that Teefa in Trouble was not released on a public holiday and still managed to make such records.
Records of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani
Jawani Phir Nahi Ani was released on 25th September 2015 on Eid-Al-Azha. The film collected RS. 2 crores on the first day followed by RS. 2.7 on the second day of its release.
Jawani Phir Nahi Ani is currently the second highest grossing film of Pakistan standing at RS.49.44 crores in total.
The first spot is held by Punjab Nahi Jaungi standing at RS. 50.00 crores.
It would be interesting to see if ‘Teefa in Trouble’ can beat the record of ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’ 10-day collection which is RS. 30 crore, making it the first Pakistani film to ever do so.
The success of Teefa in Trouble
Teefa In trouble stands out from other Pakistani films because of its fight sequences, incredible cinematography, excellent music, and strong leading characters.
The film has received very positive reviews from both critics and the public which is rare for a Pakistani film. Anyone who has seen the film only has good words for the film which balances comedy with action and romance.
