Pakistan will play 5 ODIs in England just 3 weeks before Cricket World Cup 2019

In a shocking development today, it was revealed that Pakistan will be playing against England in England just a few days before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 begins.

A schedule was released by England and Wales Cricket board today which puts Pakistan as the first opponents of England’s home international season next year.

The tour of Pakistan will include five ODIs and one T20 match. The T20 match will be played first at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on May 5 followed by 5 ODIs.

The five one day international matches between the two team will begin on 8 May and will last until 19 May, this will leave just 11 days before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 begins.

The one-day internationals against England will be played on the same pitches the World Cup will be played on. This is a huge opportunity for Pakistan to get familiarized with the conditions of the ground just before the World Cup begins.

  • May 8 – The Oval
  • May 11 – Ageas Bowl, Southampton
  • May 14 – Bristol
  • May 17 – Trent Bridge
  • May 19 – Headingley, Leeds
