If a private school in Islamabad is charging you summer fee, report to PEIRA immediately

Deputy Comissioner Islamabad just issued a notice urging public to report to PEIRA if private schools are charging fee during summers

On 18th May 2018, the High Court of Islamabad had issued an order to private schools in Islamabad to restrain from receiving monthly tuition fee and other charges for summer vacations for the period from 1st June to 12th August 2018.

However, several parents have reported that the schools are still demanding fees with some of them even threatening to hold back children’s exam results if the fee is not paid.

Helpless parents were forced to pay fee in advance for two months even after the court had ordered. The schools even issued a notification saying that they had been granted a stay order against the court order.

Now according to an official notification issued by Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) is urging parents to lodge complaints against the schools if they are being charged the summer fee.

According to the notice, the schools have no such stay order granted by the Division Bench of Honourable Islamabad High Court against the court order issued on 18th May 2018. According to the notice, the schools have also used print media to create fake news about the stay order being granted.

The new notifications issued today have once again directed the private schools to comply with the court order dated 18th May 2018 and parents are urged to lodge a complaint by calling on numbers 051-9107702 & 051-9107704.
