Here’s a look at the newly upgraded and expanded Quetta International Aiport

After the long delay in completion of New Islamabad International Aiport and expansion and upgradation of Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar, the Quetta International Airport has been completely upgraded and expanded.

The Quetta International Airport expansion project was inaugurated on May 31 last month. The expansion has not only modernized the airport but now also allows it to welcome Boeing 777 jets which were previously unable to land at the airport.

The expansion project started in 2015 and took nearly three years to complete. Amongst the things expanded and upgraded are the new state-of-the-art passenger boarding bridge, new check-in and immigration counters and baggage handling system.

Before the expansion, the airport had only 5 check-in counters which are now increased to 12 counters. The international counters have also been increased from 3 to 12.

A new restaurant has also been constructed in the airport which can accommodate up to 100 passengers at a given time.

With the expansion of Quetta International Aiport, processing time will be reduced significantly providing comfort and speed to the passengers who otherwise had to spend hours in the airport before and after landing.
