Former captain of Pakistan team and star player Shahid Afridi is headed to Canada after a very long time to play cricket. Afridi is taking part in the Global T20 Canada League that started yesterday in Toronto.
The league has other star players from across the world including Darren Sammy, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle, Lasith Malinga. These star players will serve as captains of the 6 teams.
Afridi will captain Edmonton Royals who will face Toronto Nationals on June 30, Saturday.
In a Tweet, Afridi asked his fans to buy tickets and come to support his team and cricket in general.
The Global T20 Canada league will have 22 matches with the first match taking place on 28th June all the way to July 15.
