Pakistan vs. England test series begin today at Lords

Pakistan is all set to meet England in the first of two-match test series at Lords starting today at 3:00 PM.

From the Pakistani side, at least seven of the squad members will be playing in Lords for the first time along with four seniors who have had experience at the home of cricket.

Last time Pakistan took on England in a test match in their home was in 2016. At that time the Pakistani team was quite confident with Misbah-ul-Haq leading them.

The series resulted in a tie of 2-2 after Pakistan had gone through an intense training at a boot camp organized by PAK Army.

The very same series allowed Pakistan to climb to the top of the world test rankings. But since then Pakistan has dropped to seventh place, two spots below England.

This time things will be different because the current side even though is not lacking in confidence, they don’t have experienced players like Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan.

How Pakistan can turn things around

If Pakistan is to turn the tide in their favor, the team will have to make good use of the four experienced players who have already faced England at Lords and won two out of four test matches in 2016.

These players include Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Amir and captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.

For the match to be turned into their favor, these seniors will have to lead from the front and guide the new players while taking responsibility.

Pakistan will also be playing with almost the same squad that took on the recent Test debutants in Ireland, where the conditions of the pitch and ground were quite similar to what they are about to face at Lords.

Pakistan will also have to take advantage of the current England team who seems to be having a hard time these days. The team has failed to win any of their seven most recent test matches in Australia and New Zealand.
