Pakistan Streetchild football team has made it to the final of Streetchild Football Worldcup 2018

Pakistan boys team beat Indoneisa to qualify for the finals. The team will now face Uzbekistan.

It is an extremely proud moment for Pakistanis around the world as the Pakistan Street Child Football team has made it to the finals of Streetchild Football World Cup 2018 Russia.

The team managed by Muslim Hands Pakistan made it to the semi-finals yesterday after defeating Tajikistan 2-0. They were pit against Indonesia in the final. After an extremely competitive match, the Pakistani team won on penalties 5-4.

Now the team will be facing Uzbekistan in the finals of the Street Child Football World Cup on the 16th of May.

This Pakistani team is the same team that won the third place in 2014’s street child world cup Brazil.

More About Streetchild Football World Cup

The Streetchild Worldcup is held in the host country of the Fifa World Cup a month before the main event begins. The event attempts to highlight the global social issue of childhood vagrancy through the streetchild world cup.

Teams from around the world are managed by organizations like Muslim Hands and are prepared in the home country before being sent to ‘qualifying rounds’ six months before the street child world cup begins.

For this year’s world cup, as many as 12 teams are fighting for the title. With Pakistan in the finals, we wish the team the best of luck.
