After Lahore and Multan, Speedo Bus service has been launched in Bahawalpur and Lodhran. It is quite a welcoming change to see that the small cities of Pakistan are also getting modern public transport facilities.
The bus service was launched yesterday through an inauguration ceremony where important figures from both the government and local authorities were present.
The Speedo Bus Service in Bahawalpur and Lodhran consists of a fleet of 12 buses which are fully air-conditioned. An e-ticketing system has also been introduced for easy ticket buying for commuters.
Initially, the buses will cover a route comprising of 28.7 kilometers with rates ranging from Rs. 10, Rs. 20 and Rs. 30. To celebrate the launch of the service, citizens of both Lodhran and Bahawalpur can travel for free until the end of January.
According to the authorities, as many as 13 bus stops having shades and seats have been set up on the route the bus service will be following. Moreover, a special fare of Rs. 30 has been set for the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
Currently, the fares for 8 km, 16km, and 24 km is set at Rs. 10, 20 and 30 respectively.
