Pakistan International Airlines launched the V1 initiative in a bid to turnaround the negative picture of the National airlines of Pakistan and make it profitable in the coming years.
The V1 initiative was launched last month under the supervision of PIA’s new CEO Rasool Cyan who is slowly and gradually turning things around for the airlines. In the first phase of the initiative, the airlines have been busy refurbishing its fleet of aircrafts.
The airlines announced on January 27th that they have completely refurbished all of their aircrafts. The cabin refurbishment and enhancement enables the aircraft to have better cabin conditions.
The cabins now have better seats with new covers, curtains, cushions, carpets, cleaner toilets and cabin crew areas. The airlines also announced that the project was completed in record time. It was completed earlier than expected.
As a part of their initiative, PIA is now focusing on increasing flights and introducing new routes for the citizens of Pakistan. Additionally, the airlines are also focusing on the cabin service such as better food quality, taste, and service.
In 2018, PIA will aim to move towards revenue optimization with a lower cost base. It is expected to have a very positive impact on the operating profit and losses of the carrier.
