PIA’s Christmas Day campaign is winning praise around the world

The PIA ad for Christmas Day became No.1 on the top page of a prestigious advertising community

On 25th December, the whole Pakistan celebrated two occasions – Christmas Day and the 142nd birth anniversary of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-E-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Many prestigious brands and organizations of Pakistan shared the happiness and joy of all the Christians of Pakistan by wishing them a Merry Christmas.

One of the biggest organizations of Pakistan, Pakistan International Airlines also wished the Christian minorities of Pakistan through unique gestures and advertisements.

One of their digital adverts got the top spot at Adporn, a popular ad community on Reddit where people submit creative advertisement from around the world.


PIA staff surprises passengers with Santa onboard

Moreover, PIA also surprised the children and passengers onboard a PIA flight by distributing gifts. The senior flight purser, Peter Inayat dressed up as Santa on that day and with the help of the cabin crew distributed gifts and goodies to all the children who were onboard.

The video and their digital ad since then have won praise from both international and local organizations alike.

Pakistan accounts for nearly 2-3% Christian population which means that Pakistan has more Christians in the country than the entire population of New Zealand. And gestures like these only promote the soft image of the country which is mostly seen with a negative eye around the world.
