The news of Hyundai returning to Pakistan has shaken the automobile industry especially after the website of Hyundai-Nishat group was recently updated with a teaser featuring 4 of Hyundai’s cars.
The Nishat group which is one of the biggest companies in Pakistan has been planning to enter the automobile industry of Pakistan since 2012. But due to unfavorable policies back then, the decision was put on hold until Hyundai contacted the company for a joint venture in February 2017.
As a result, Nishat agreed to construct car manufacturing plants that would allow the two companies to locally assemble Hyundai cars and launch them into the Pakistani automobile market.
The teaser image from Hyundai-Nishat’s website features the cars Tucson, Creta Elantra, and Verna, two of which are SUVs and the other two Sedans. Here are the details of these cars already running on the roads of many countries.
The Hyundai Tucson is a compact crossover SUV being produced by Hyundai since 2004. On February 17, 2015, the car manufacturer released the third generation of Tucson.
The third generation Tucson is available in the North America with 2 engine choices namely the 2.0L Gasoline Direct Injection inline four-cylinder engine and the 1.6L Turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine.
The Hyundai Creta is also known as the Hyundai ix25. It is a crossover 5-door SUV being produced by Beijing Hyundai since 2014.
The Creta has a powerful engine that comes in three different variants ranging from 1.6 Petrol Dual VTVT engine, the 1.4 CRDi engine, and the 1.6 CRDi VGT engine.
The vehicle is based on the Hyundai-Kia platform supports the Kia Cee’d, Kia Soul, Hyundai i30, and Hyundai Elantra.
The Hyundai Elantra is a compact car being produced by Hyundai since 1990. The car is currently in its 6th generation phase with the first model released in February 2016.
The Hyundai Elantra was released in India last year with two engine options ranging from 2.0L Nu I4 petrol and 1.6L U2 I4 turbocharged diesel. The 4-door fastback sedan is produced with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
The Hyundai Verna is also known as the Hyundai Accent. It is a subcompact car being produced by Hyundai since 1994. The car is currently in its fifth generation phase.
The Verna was released in India in 2011 with four engine options ranging from 1.4L petrol and diesel engines and 1.6L petrol and diesel engines. The line up of the cars was refreshed in 2014 without any changes in the engine.
