Wardha’s new ‘Mehndi’ designer collection sets mood for the wedding season

The ‘Dholak’ collection showcased at FPW ’17 had as many as 17 new designs

The Mehndi function in a Pakistani wedding is without any doubt the best function out of the three major functions. This is a time when the entire family gets together to have fun, sing songs and dance to the beat and celebrate an upcoming bond between two people.

Functions like Mehndi demand vibrantly colored dresses and that is exactly what Wardha Saleem introduced through her new ‘Dholak’ lineup during the Fashion Pakistan Week 2017.

Last week the Fashion Pakistan Week Winter Festive Collection took the fashion industry of Pakistan by storm when as many as 12 designers showcased their new collection for winter 2017.

The three-day event had displays of exquisite new designs ranging from semi-formal, formal and bridal collections. Pakistan’s top designers ranging from  Misha Lakhani, Aamna Aqeel, Erum Khan, Obaid Sheikh, Saira Rizwan, Suffuse X Jaipur and Co, Sanam Chaudhry, Wardha Saleem, Emraan Rajput, Sadaf Malaterre, HEM, Deepak Perwani, and more were all there.

But the ramp was set on fire when Wardha Saleem introduced her new ‘Dholak’ collection which is essentially a celebration of sub-continents most festive wedding occasion, the Mehndi.

Dholak featured a collection which was both traditional in nature as well as playful. Everything on display showcased Wardha’s signature style.

With these vibrant colored designs, details intricate techniques, Wardha’s Dholak has definitely set the mood for winter’s wedding season in Pakistan.
