Wasim Akram leaves Islamabad United, will join another franchise

Pakistan legend Wasim Akram has decided to part ways with Pakistan Super League franchise Islamabad United for another franchise. The star is expected to join Multan Sultans, the newly added 6th franchise for the league.

The news was confirmed by Akram’s manager who said that he is already in talks with other franchises. Multan Sultans sounds a very strong candidate because his manager specifically pointed out that they are in touch with the franchise owners over a possibility of Wasim Akram joining it.

However, talks of Wasim Akram joining Multan Sultans has already started circulating the Social Media where various sources claim that he has already joined the franchise and the official announcement will be made this week.

Wasim Akram had a very important role of mentoring the team in Islamabad United. He helped the team come through two strong seasons with one helping them earn the trophy.

Several sources are also claiming that Wasim Akram’s place will be taken by Misbah-Ul-Haq who was leading the team as a captain. If this is to be believed, Islamabad United will soon be announcing a new team captain.
