Pakistan celebrated it’s 70th independence day yesterday with celebrations across the nation. From fireworks to air shows to bike rallies and singing in the most unexpected places, every Pakistani was busy celebrating in their own way.
Yesterday was probably the most happening independence day of the country in recent history and we’ve got it all piled up together to share it with you. Here are the best and most unexpected and unique celebrations that took place on 14th August.
Independence Day Airshow Islamabad and Karachi
Pakistan Air Force had prepared an Airshow for the citizens of Islamabad and Karachi. In Islamabad, the PAF collaborated with Turkey’s Solo Turk F-16 demonstration and Saudia Arab’s Saudi Hawks.
Tallest Flag hoisting and Pakistan cricket team Coach at Wagah border Lahore
The Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa hoisted the largest flag of Pakistan hoisted 400 feet above the ground to celebrate the 70th independence day of Pakistan.
The flag was made entirely in Pakistan and was hoisted 400 feet above the ground at midnight. The size of the flag is 120 ft by 80 ft.
Coach Mickey Arthur of the Pakistani International Cricket team also celebrated the Independence of Pakistan by paying a visit to Wagah Border, Lahore.
Amazing Fireworks at Minar-e-Pakistan Lahore
Some of the best fireworks display took place at the grand Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore. The fireworks painted a colorful picture of the Minar during both the day time and night time. Hoards of people were gathered to witness a grand display of fireworks unlike any other in Pakistan.
Momina Mustehsan surprised PIA passengers
Momina Mustehsan surprised passengers on a domestic PIA flight with her singing. She sang her rendition of Afreen Afreen and as well as Dil Dil Pakistan for the flight passengers. The crew also joined her to celebrate the independence day. Momina was also joined by Leo Twins. Popular VJ Anoushey Ashraf was also on the same flight.
Sikh Independence Day Rally Peshawar
Dressed in the traditional attires of the country, hundreds of Sikhs took the streets of Peshawar riding on their bikes from Mohallah Jogan Shah. The celebrations took place with a lot of dancing and beats of the drum. They passed through many popular areas of the city and finished the bike rally at Jinnah Park where they cut a cake.
Faysal Qureshi Rides For Pakistan
Faysal Qureshi, one of the most celebrated artists of our country took an early morning bicycle ride with citizens to celebrate the independence day in his own style. He rode 70 Kms beginning from ‘Teen Talwar’ to Bahria Town Karachi.
Fireworks and dancing fountain display at Bahria Town Karachi
Bahria Town celebrated the 70th Independence Day with their own display of Fireworks in Bahria Town Karachi. The recently inaugurated dancing fountain also entertained the people with its unique laser light dancing fountain show.
Dolmen Mall Stood out with their independence day celebrations
Out of the big malls of Pakistan, Dolmen Mall stood out with their independence day celebrations. Not only the mall was adorned with green color, Dolmen Mall also had their staff celebrate the independence day by doing a rendition of National Anthem of Pakistan. A grand event was later held at the mall with local celebrities like Fahad Mustafa were present.
