First of its kind luxurious lounge opened in Karachi International Airport

An exclusive premier lounge for business class passengers has just been inaugurated in the Karachi International Airport inside the Jinnah terminal. The newly opened Marhaba lounge is part of the wider Marhaba lounges that are operating in various first class international airports of the world and it is owned by the Emirates Group.

To inaugurate the luxurious lounge, several Pakistani celebrities alongside the Governor Sindh, Mr. Muhammad Zubair and President DNATA. Mr, Gary Chapman was present.

The lounge is open specifically to serve the business class passengers of Emirates Airline. It is capable of handling more than 100 passengers at a given time. For the time being the lounge will only serve customers of Emirates Airlines. The plan to have it opened to other passengers will be decided at a later date.

The Marhaba lounge will offer services like free Wi-Fi, business area, dining throughout the day, prayer areas for men and women, relaxation zone and kids play area. Smoking space is also made available in the lounge.

Marhaba lounge was first opened at the Dubai International Airport in 1991. It started out with a team of 20 people which has now grown to more than 600. Today, the facility provides for nearly a million passengers a year and now operates in Dubai, Bahrain, Singapore, Amsterdam, Bangkok, Cairo, Kuala Lumpur, London Gatwick and Heathrow and Munich airports.

This is the first time such a lounge has opened in Pakistan. Other than this, Pakistan International Airlines also operates a business lounge which is a bit less fancy but serves the same purpose for passengers of the airline.
