Lahore get it’s first model graveyard

Shehr-e-Khamoshan will be offering select free burial services for people in Lahore

A model graveyard has been constructed in Kacha road, Kahna, Lahore. The graveyard is first of its kind model graveyard that will offer various burial services of which some are free of cost to use.

Any family of the deceased person can avail burial facilities regardless of whether they are living in Lahore or not. All they need to do is call on 0303-8438951 to arrange services. The services currently being offered by the Shehr-e-Khamoshan includes Namaz-e-Janaza, Ghusal, hearse service and mortuary services.

Families of the deceased will also be provided with essentials such as Kafn/dafn with a graveyard manager, well-trained team and a supervisor who will be addressing the different concerns of people.

The authorities have also made sure that security personnel is always present at the location to make sure no illegal activity takes place. Trained gravediggers will be present to carry out digging operations using high-end machinery.




The model graveyard cost approximately RS 155 million to set up and has an area of 89 Kanal which provides space for 8,000 graves.

The Shehr-e-Khamoshan is essentially an initiative set by the government of Punjab. It will be spread across different regions of Punjab to give similar services to other cities.
