Pakistani-British Doctor Makes History By Winning MasterChef UK

She is the first Pakistani and doctor to win MasterChef

Saliha Mehmood Ahmed, a Pakistani-British doctor has just made history by becoming the first woman of Pakistani origin and a doctor to have won Master Chef UK. Saliha hails from Kashmir and is an extremely talented individual. The food she cooks not only taste heavenly but also looks like it came directly from heaven.

By profession, Saliha is a junior doctor who is a specialist in gastroenterology. To win Master Chef UK, she had to beat 64 other contestants to make it to the finals and come face to face with other two extremely talented chefs.

Saliha’s specialty is mixing desi cuisine with western. In fact, for her final 3 dishes, she chose none other than the most popular Pakistani delicacy, the Shami kebab.

Her last three dishes consisted of a shami kebab made from deer meat served with cashew and coriander green chutney, channa dal and kachumber salad.

The main course consisted of Kashmiri style duck breast with crispy skin, dried and spiced barberries, freekeh wheat grain, cherry chutney, coriander and cherry sauce.

The desert consisted of a pannacotta made with saffron rosewater and cardamom served with a deconstructed baklava including pistachio honeycomb, filo pastry shards, kumquats, and pistachios.

We are extremely proud and congratulate Saliha on winning the Master Chef UK which isn’t a simple feat.

Saliha also has an Instagram account where she uploads most of her cooking. Check it out here.
