The Fast & Furious franchise is Pakistan’s favorite Hollywood movie. Ever since the first movie came out in 2001, Pakistan and the entire world have fallen in love with the Fast family and rest of its characters.
The latest part in the high-octane action thriller movie is finally out and its launch in Pakistan was probably the biggest for any international movie ever released in the country.
Because of its popularity in Pakistan, Fast and Furious has become many cinemas and car lover’s excuse to throw a car show.
This year things got bigger and better as Pakistani celebrities also joined in a car show held in Lahore in honor of FnF 8 release.
A popular cinema in Lahore arranged a car show in collaboration with Pakwheels.com. The show was held just before the premier of FnF 8 and its purpose was to exhibit exotic cars in the country. Many fans and celebrities including Ahmed Ali Butt were present at the event.
The launch event of Fast and Furious 8 in Pakistan also sparked a controversy on the internet for using women dressed in shorts to advertise the movie.
Fast and Furious 8 is running all around Pakistan and it has had a very successful launch over the weekend. The movie has also set a new record of $532.5M in a global launch. It has beaten the global launch record of Star Wars: The Force Awakens which held the top spot at $529M.
