German Photographer Manolo Ty traveled to Pakistan for his picture book called Pakistan Now, which has recently been published. It features beautiful moments captured in the lives of ordinary Pakistanis and shows Pakistanis in a whole new light compared to the traditional mainstream media view of Pakistan that is often portrayed in the West.
About the Book Title
Manolo Ty in an interview with Geo TV said, “As a photographer, I wished to capture a moment from the present, the ‘now’, over any other time. This led me to name my book ‘Pakistan Now’.” He said that Pakistan is still a country that is searching for its identity, but this kabaddi match does capture a part of it beautifully.
He said that Pakistan is still a country that is searching for its identity, but this kabaddi match does capture a part of it beautifully. Pakistan’s unique beaches certainly did not go unnoticed.
Living with a tribal elder in the troubled Peshawar, being part of the mystical Sufi nights in Lahore, and getting lost in the Cholistan desert. For him, it didn’t take much to fall in love with the country.
With its variation, diversity, and little twists and turns. We certainly live in a beautiful country. The photos showcase Pakistanis to the west in a light they would never other have a chance to see Pakistanis in typically.
The book features 276 images in more than 25 locations all across the country, complete with stories, anecdotes, and Manolo’s own observations. The book is a completely new and amazing, and yet completely real, image of Pakistan. He said that he has become very fond of Pakistanis’ friendly nature and kindness and definitely wanted cultural exchanges between the people of Pakistan and his home country, Germany, to foster greater understanding and familiarity between the two nations. This book is definitely the start of that beautiful journey!
