5 Pakistani Movies To Look Out For

We’re really happy to see how the revival of Pakistani cinema is bringing more and more local people together. If we look at 2014-1016, Pakistani cinema has officially risen back from its grave and is now providing a host of different cinematic projects to the audience.

We recently did a list of upcoming Pakistani movies. The new projects are pouring in so fast that we had to update the list with new upcoming movies.

1. Jawaani Lay Doobi


Jawaani Lay Doobi is a second project by Shahid Qureshi who was behind Sawaal 700 Crore Dollar Ka. Even though S700CDK didn’t make much at the box office, it didn’t stop Qureshi coming back for another try. This time he will team up with Jamshaid Muhammad to bring an adventure based movie. Look at the poster below. The film is set to release in September 2017.

2. Zarrar

Shaan Shahid will be seen once again on the big screen in another action/thriller movie. The cast of the movie involves Kiran Malik, Adnan Butt, Nadeem Baig and Nayyer Ejaz. The movie will be directed by Shaan himself. Have a look at the BTS of the movie below:

3. Main Punjab Nahi Jaungi



ARY and Six Sigma films are back after their worldwide hit Jawani Phir Nahi Ani. The production houses are once again partnered with Nadeem Baig for a movie that will feature Mehwish Hayat and Hamayun Saeed. This movie will be a romantic comedy. Ahmed Ali Butt is also set to make an appearance in the movie.

4. Arth 2


Another Shaan Shahid movie is on the way. Arth 2 is being produced by AA Motion Pictures with partnership from 5th Element and HKC Entertainment. This movie is a sequel to Bollywood’s Arth. It will feature Humayun Saeed, Uzma Hassan, Humaima Malick and Shaan.

5. Abdullah


Abdullah was featured in the Cannes Film Festival in 2015. It is now set to release in Pakistani cinemas on October 21, 2016.  The movie is about three women and two men from Russia who were killed in a suicide bomb attack. It is a story based on true events that happened in Quetta in 2011. The cast features Sajid Hasan, Imran Abbas, Hameed Sheikh and Sadia Khan.
