Last year during the Toronto set of Suicide Squad movie, Director David Ayer hinted at a different Batman portrayal in the upcoming movie.
He mentioned that people have a lot of different theories going on how the characters of Suicide Squad, who are all Triple A villains from DC Comics will come into play. He said:
There’s a lot of information out there, and a lot of false information about how these characters play into the A-plot. It’s an incredibly complex story with flashbacks and different convergent storylines and things like that
But before he could go into any details on how everyone will be fixed in the movie, he went on and talked about how Batman will fit in the plot.
He insisted that Batman has always been portrayed as a good guy because his movies were about him, and thus he was always the good guy in everyone’s eyes. But has anyone wondered how Batman deals with the criminals he face? What do the criminals have to say about Batman? Why some of them are terrified at the name of this masked vigilante? All your questions will be answered in the Suicide Squad movie where the Batman will be seen through the eyes of the villains. Here’s what the director had to say:
If you look at what Bruce Wayne has done in creating the Batman persona, his idea was to terrorize criminals. It’s sort of psychological warfare against criminals. This wraith that comes in the night and attacks and culls criminals from society. For the first time, we’re seeing Batman from the point of view of the criminals and he’s freaking scary
So guys, be prepared because from the sounds of it, the director is definitely planning on bringing Batman as the bad guy this time around.
