Punisher To Get His Own Series

After the massive success of Marvel’s Daredevil season 1 and 2 on Netflix, the company has ordered a standalone version of the Punisher.

The Punisher will be the sixth show in a row that has resulted from the collaboration between Marvel and Netflix. Daredevil is already enjoying massive success along with Jessica Jones, another Marvel character. Luke Cage and Iron Fist are supposed to debut later this year. All of these characters will unite in a show that will rival DC’s Heroes Of Tomorrow, named the Defenders.

No release date of the Punisher series is finalized yet but expect to see it somewhere in the beginning of the next year.

More About The Punisher

The Punisher is a fictional anti-hero by Marvel. The character was created by Gerry Conway and was approved by Stan Lee. His first comic book appearance was in the #129 The Amazing Spider-Man.

Since then the Punisher has appeared in numerous comic books and has had his own standalone comic book series.

The iconic anti-hero, unfortunately never made a huge name in live action films. The three films ‘The Punisher (1989)’, ‘The Punisher (2004)’ and ‘Punisher: War Zone (2008)’ were met with extremely poor reviews and hardly made any standing at the box office.

His latest live action appearance in the Marvel Daredevil series by Netflix was met with such positive response that the company had no choice but order a stand-alone spinoff series featuring the iconic anti-hero himself.
