With nearly 2 years of non-stop hard work, Pakistani students from the Pakistan Navy Engineering College ( Karachi Campus of National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) ) was able to design Pakistan’s first and one of its kind Formula Electric Car. Now this car has been selected for SAE Lincoln contest held in the United States Of America.
The contest which will be held from 15 June to 18 June is the first science based competition for these Pakistani group of students to participate in.
Previously, students from the same university has taken part in competitions held in Cyprus, Manila and Philippines. They managed to bag the Best Electrical Propulsion Power award in the Cyprus Solar Car Challenge held in 2014.
The project was completed with the help of Bank Alfalaha who financed the requirements for the students. Otherwise, this project could have taken even longer to complete.

The Car features include:
- Rack & Pinion Type steering system
- Unequal A-Arm suspension system (push rods with SP-4 way dampers)
- Single Piston custom made aluminum Calliper braking system
The project will be competing against 100 teams in Formula SAE. It is sponsored by different world renowned automobile companies. The winners will be given an award alongside cash prize.
