Gilgit-Baltistan Police Has Started Patrolling CPEC Route

The Gilgit Baltistan police has just started patrolling the area in Diamer District to make sure there is enough security as progress on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) continues.

At least 10 vehicles from the police have been set aside exclusively for this purpose.

According to sources, the policemen who are patrolling the area are well trained for the job. These men will be available 24/7 to help with problems or security issues on the route.

The patrolling duty was made possible after China had gifted the Gilgit Baltistan government as many as 25 vehicles. The fleet of these vehicles were received by IGP Zafar Iqbal Awan on the behalf of the Gilgit Baltistan government in March.

The patrolling force has about 300 active personnel with 25 operational vehicles. Their efforts will ensure enough security is provided and the traffic remains in flow on the 439 KM CPEC road chunk.
